RWTH Alumni at the Lousberglauf Once Again

The Lousberglauf, the largest running event in the Aachen region, took place for the 25th time at the beginning of July in collaboration with the University Sports Center or HSZ, the Sportreferat of the Aachen Universities, and the residents of the residential towers on Rütscherstraße.

The RWTH Alumni have regularly participated with their own team since 2002, even honoring their own top female and male runners. In contrast to previous years, this anniversary run took place under sunny skies with mild temperatures, enticing many people to watch along the sidelines. As always, there was a special mood and atmosphere, carried by the runners past the finish line.

Two favorites pushed through among the alumni: Philipp Nawrocki won with 19:49 minutes just before Fahd Mellouk with 19:51 minutes. Last year's winner, Helge Heers, came in third with a time of 20:21 minutes. Among the alumnae, Annika Önning came out on top with 27:40 minutes. Katharina Apfel and Angela Poth took second and third places with times of 28:04 and 28:28 minutes, respectively.

Not only the winning athletes were able to celebrate their achievement. All participants, who crossed the finish line, could feel like winners.
