First International Conference on Process Mining

RWTH’s Chair of Process and Data Science Organizing Process Mining Conference.

 

Process mining is a relatively young method in process management. Process mining software extracts findings from event logs and reconstructs business processes in information systems. This opens up new opportunities to recognize, supervise, and improve real processes in a multitude of applications. The increasing interest in this new discipline is triggered by the rising number of events registered via online systems, as well as the desire to optimize processes in the face of ever-increasing competition.

The International Conference on Process Mining (ICPM) is the first event of its kind devoted to the rapidly growing discipline of process mining. ICPM will be held from June 24 to 26, 2019, at the events area of Aachen's Tivoli soccer stadium. Leading experts from all over the world will attend the conference. Professor Wil van der Aalst, head of Aachen's Chair of Process and Data Science, is organizing the event.

Highlight on Tuesday

The conference's Industry Day on Tuesday, June 25 is set to be a memorable highlight. Speakers from companies such as Siemens, Ernst & Young, or Deloitte will report on their experiences with different process mining software. Various speakers will outline the current situation of the research into process mining on the other days of the conference. There will also be software demonstrations, contests, and a doctoral candidates’ consortium at the Chair of Process and Data Science on June 23, 2019.

Three related events will be held at the same time on the Tivoli stadium ground: the 40th International Conference on Application and Theory of Petri Nets and Concurrency, the 19th International Conference on Application of Concurrency to System Design, and the Algorithms & Theories for the Analysis of Event Data Workshop.
