The International Office of RWTH Aachen University welcomes all new international students starting in the 2023 summer semester with an introduction and support program to ensure they have the best possible start at RWTH and in Aachen.

The Welcome Week program runs from March 21 to March 31, 2023. The first week's program focuses on virtual offers, then, on March 28, 2023, we will welcome all new international students at the official on-site kick-off event at Audimax Large Lecture Hall.

During the Welcome Weeks, students receive important information about studying and living in Aachen. The introductory program, which is specifically tailored to the needs and interests of international students, is designed to ensure good academic preparation and quick integration in Aachen and in the student community. The hybrid format lets new students get to know the central services and important partners of RWTH, in some cases through remote offers, and to be able to contact them personally on-site at RWTH, for example at the Freshers' Fair on March 30, in the Audimax Building.

We are pleased to be able to offer most of our events in person, including intercultural training, campus and library tours,a kick-off event, a talk show followed by a German Dinner, and a Freshers' Fair. These on-site events especially help newcomers get to know each other and network with one another. Rapid integration is an important aspect of successful studies at RWTH. The recordings and materials of the Welcome Week will be made available via the Latecomer website so that any students who have missed events can also access this information.

We would like to thank the Welcome Week Network for supporting us in the realization of our events. RWTH students who volunteer at the International Office during the Welcome Weeks (so-called Welcome Week Volunteers) may have their work recognized as part of the Certificate International program.

In addition, the Info Service Center of the International Office regularly offers web seminars on key topics with experts during the semester, provides a Survival Guide, and has open office hours to always be a point of contact for new students. The BeBuddy program and the student initiatives, which mostly offer their services at Humboldt House, are a great way for latecomers to socialize and network. The Housing Advice Service also offers students assistance and advice on finding accommodation in Aachen.
