Title

Vehicles and VRU Virtual eValuation of Road Safety

Concept

Policies designed to ensure the safety of all road users, from vulnerable road users to vehicle occupants, require a trustworthy method to compare safety measures for cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM).

The EU-funded V4SAFETY project will provide a framework to manage safety measures – from in-vehicle safety technology, new vehicle types and infrastructure solutions to regulations influencing road user behaviour. The framework will include methods to project the results in future scenarios and over EU regions addressing policymakers, authorities and consumer organisations.

V4SAFETY will compare the results of safety studies. It will also formulate guidelines that will assist in the selection, configuration and connection of relevant human, vehicle and environment models.
