The Welcome Week takes place from September 25 to 29, 2023 and starts with the traditional Kick-Off. During the Welcome Week students will receive important information about studying and living in Aachen. The program, which is specifically tailored to the needs and interests of international students, takes place both online and on-site and is designed to ensure good academic preparation and rapid integration in Aachen. Important information events, where organizational and residence law issues are explained in detail by the respective experts, take in a place face-to face format.
This is preceded by the new Fit for RWTH website, where topical videos discuss subjects that are important early on before arriving in Germany, such as online enrollment, health insurance and finding an apartment. This enables new students to get to know the central advising offices and important partners of RWTH while they are still abroad.
We are pleased to offer the following events, among others: Campus and library tours, a movie night, an informative talk show, and the popular Info Market.
This should help the incoming students to get to know each other and to network. Making contacts and integrating well into the student body counteract loneliness and contribute significantly to academic success.
RWTH students who volunteer to support the International Office during Welcome Weeks (so-called Welcome Week Volunteers) may have their efforts recognized as part of the Certificate International program. In addition, the Info Service Center regularly offers web seminars on key topics with experts during the semester. Welcome Week recordings and materials are made available via the Latecomer website so that latecomers can also access this information.
