German-Ecuadorian Research Cooperation Program on Biodiversity and Climate Change
DAAD – the German Academic Exchange Service are supporting the "German-Ecuadorian Research Cooperation Program on Biodiversity and Climate Change" with funds from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH – GIZ for short. The program was approved on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Over a period of 18 months, the German-Ecuadorian research cooperation will be intensified in the fields of biodiversity and climate change as part of the DAAD-GIZ cooperation. The conditions for the application of results from bilateral research projects will also be improved. The principal implementing partner in Ecuador is the Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment, with its National Institute of Biodiversity.
German and Ecuadorian partners should be able to carry out joint research at a high level and develop application-oriented results. All the projects will be carried out on a cooperative basis, including at least one German and one Ecuadorian university or research institution. The formation of consortia is also possible. DAAD and GIZ are planning a matchmaking event to initiate contacts with potential research partners. During the funding period, networking events and symposia will be held in Germany and Ecuador.
If you have any queries or are interested in finding out more about this new program, please send an email to DAAD contact partners Anja Munzig and Ilona Daun.
