Support for Summer School Participants in Aachen
Students from all over the world visit Aachen to participate in one of the RWTH Aachen Summer Schools. Aside from gaining subject specific knowledge, they have the opportunity to experience German language and culture. The Summer School is a joint project of the International Office, the RWTH International Academy, the RWTH Language Center and several RWTH departments.
From June to August each year, the RWTH International Academy welcomes students from all over the world in its summer schools. In cooperation with the International Office and the institutes of the RWTH Aachen University, the RWTH International Academy organizes two- to four-week summer school programs that include technical and business lessons as well as an attractive supporting program.
The international students not only get to know Aachen and its surroundings through various leisure activities, but also gain an insight into German culture. In order to familiarize the international guests with student life on site, dedicated RWTH students support the program on a voluntary basis. Each Summer School is supported by a number of mentors who work together to provide students with advice and support. In addition, they accompany the Summer School participants during the framework program and organize other group activities that promote intercultural exchange.
Questions about the Summer Mentor Program will be answered by the Summer Schools Team of the RWTH International Academy.
The BeBuddy commitment of at least 3 weeks as part of further summer schools or temporary research stays, such as the UROP program, can also be taken into account as a component of the Certificate International.
