Lottery Process in the 2024 Summer Semester

If you have not applied to RWTH Aachen or did not get your desired study placement from hochschulSTART, you still have a chance of getting a study placement by applying for the lottery process before the application deadline. The lottery process only takes place if there are remaining spots after the other processes. These are allocated in a lottery process simply based on luck. Abitur grades, waiting time, and other criteria do not play a role.

Application to the lottery process is open to prospective students of any nationality. Please read more detailed information on the lottery process for international students.

You can also apply here if you have not applied for the main process before or your application was not activated for the allocation process. It is important though that you fulfill the admissions requirements for enrollment according to the RWTH Aachen enrollment regulation and Guideline for Admission of International Applicants at RWTH Aachen (for non-European applicants).

Admission letters are uploaded to the RWTHonline Self Service after the lottery process application deadline has passed. You will be notified via email when the letter is available to view. Rejection letters will not be mailed.
