“Doubting Your Choice of Degree? – Find Your Career Path”

Information Event for students who are considering terminating their studies.

Students who seriously start wondering amid a course of study whether they have chosen the right degree program find themselves having to make some tough decisions: Continue and complete their course of study or either transfer to another program or terminate their studies altogether. Such a decision raises many questions. On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, the German-language information event titled “Zweifel am Studium – finde deinen Weg” will attempt to find answers to such difficult questions. It will take place at Generali Hall at the Super C building, Templergraben 57, Aachen, beginning at 2pm. This event is jointly offered by the city of Aachen, RWTH Aachen University, FH Aachen, Forschungszentrum Jülich, and Employment Agency Aachen and it is open to all students enrolled at any one of the Aachen universities.

The event offers an overview of alternatives to studies, including other educational options. Several advisory bodies will be at hand to introduce themselves to the students, such as Student Mentoring at RWTH, Student Advice Centres of both RWTH and FH, the employment agency of Aachen, the vocational training programs at RWTH Aachen and Forschungszentrum Jülich, as well as the SWITCH and RESET program. The SWITCH project, offered by the city of Aachen, and the RESET program, provided by the Chamber of Trade, both offer support for university dropouts should they want to apply for a trainee position in a work-study program in the Aachen region.
