Who Wants to Be An Engineer?

What do Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Feldhusen and Günther Jauch have in common? Both host quiz events with large fan followings, where there is always lots to win. The RWTH Aachen professor cannot hand out millions but he offers candidates and audience members exam preparation with a bit of fun. On Tuesday, January 29, 2013, he and his colleagues from the Institute for Engineering Design will ask the question "Who Wants to Be An Engineer?" for the sixth time. Mechanical and industrial engineering students in the first semester can play the game to practice for the mandatory exam "Machine Design I".

"Students are especially confronted with a lot of information in their first semester. In order to increase the motivation and interest in the subject, we combine the exam with fun," said Prof. Feldhusen. All class members are called to participate in a creative competition. The individuals who send in the 16 most original solutions participate in the quiz show " Who Wants to Be An Engineer?". In front of about 1000 audience members, candidates must prove their knowledge through multiple choice questions. In the final round, the remaining candidates must solve drawing exercises on the overhead projector. The winner receives an iPad, and the auditorium gets valuable tips for the exam. The RWTH Aachen Big Band will provide musical entertainment throughout the event.

All media representatives and interested individuals are invited to attend "Who Wants to Be An Engineer" on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at 5pm in the Audimax.
