"Catholic Religion Class in Europe – Different Contexts, One Collective Goal?!" is the name of an international workshop taking place on February 22 and 23, 2013 in Aachen. The event is organized by the Katechetisches Institut des Bistums Aachen, the University of Halle-Wittenberg, and the RWTH Aachen Teaching and Research Area Religious Education. The event will be held at the Katechetisches Institute des Bistums Aachen, Eupener Straße 132.

The workshop will provide a look outside of the box of one's own religious education and teaching work. Through comparison of religion classes in different contexts in countries, participants will reflect on their everyday sphere of activity. The relationship of religious education theory and practice will be constantly looked at: What theory generates what practice and what practice corresponds to what theoretical concepts?

Sabine Verheyen, member of the European Parliament, will hold a brief guest talk at 2pm before the closing panel discussion on Saturday, February 23, 2013. All those interested are welcome to attend.
