VDI Lauds Doctoral Dissertation from RWTH

The Association of German Engineers, VDI, awarded Catarina Caetano da Rosa the Conrad Matschoß Prize for her dissertation. The prize is awarded every two years and is endowed with 3000 Euros. Caetano da Rosa completed her doctoral studies from 2006 to 2011 at the Chair for the History of Technology under supervision by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Walter Kaiser. The doctoral dissertation will appear as a book in May 2013, and will be titled "Operationsroboter in Aktion. Kontroverse Innovationen in der Medizintechnik“ or "Surgical Robots in Action. Controversial Innovations in Medical Technology". Caetano da Rosa is currently employed at the Technical University of Darmstadt in the Department of the History of Technology.
