Productivity Management for Services
The RWTH Aachen Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics and partners from various projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF, are holding the second symposium on the topic "Productivity Management for Services". The symposium will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, 2013, at the Alemannia Aachen Tivoli Stadium. The event brings together students, entrepreneuers, and researchers, in order to further the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
On the first day speakers from science and practice will present new and investigated strategies for managing knowledge-intensive services, such as engineering and consulting, and will illustrate professional possibilities for engineers in the service sector. The presentations will address how large companies plan and optimize their processes within the research and development field and direct their service and customer support based on specific indicators. The first day will be rounded out by a collective dinner. All of the representatives from the companies will be able to have personal contact with students who are interested in this topic.
The second day will consist of methods and tools being presented that have been developed as part of interdisciplinary research projects. In workshops participants will discuss influencing factors on the productivity of their organization, work on a simulation game about the importance of trust in collaboration, and with the help of examples from real life practice, learn about the possibilities of proactive risk management using the software supported analysis and evaluation of complex project relationships.
