Title
Low Carbon Urban Transport - through municipal bus fleet electrification
Concept
Electric public busses offer the opportunity for emission‐free public transport. Existing (public funded) electric bus projects at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) serve as a basis for this project. The goal is to jointly develop innovative technologies and services that counteract the adverse effects of climate change and facilitate adaptation on primarily municipal, but also state, and national level. With the already on‐going collaboration of public, private, and academic partners, the results of the proposed PhD‐work aim at reaching a higher level of electric public bus transport system integration. Simulation tools not available today, but essential for an intelligent and cost‐efficient electrification, should be developed and applied to public bus fleets in order to show the potential for emission reduction and cost savings.
