RWTH Professor Thomas Bein Publishes on Walther von der Vogelweide

After a ten-year period of research, Professor Dr. Thomas Bein of the Department of German and Medieval Studies will publish a new scholarly edition of the works of Walther von der Vogelweide.

After his appointment in 1999, Bein established the Walther von der Vogelweide Research Center at RWTH Aachen, where he worked on the new critical-scholarly edition.

For the first time, several texts by the famous author will be published in different versions, just as there were different medieval manuscripts of his works. In this way, new material will be made available for literary-historical research, which will shed new light on the poet and his works.

The new edition will by published by the scientific and scholarly publisher de Gruyter in June 2013.
