The Welcome Event
As new professors of RWTH Aachen, you are welcomed by the rector and chancellor of the RWTH Aachen University. The Rectorate provides information about the strategic focus of RWTH Aachen and is looking forward to discussing with you the future challenges faced by our university. Our Vice-Rectors introduce relevant projects of different areas, for example Teaching, Staff Development and Research.
The two-day welcome event takes place once a year in our guest house, Haus Königshügel. You get to know the service units of RWTH Aachen that support you in your activities, and the different department heads will be available for questions and suggestions. During a bus tour of the Campus areas, you can discover the spacious location and the ambitious construction projects of RWTH Aachen. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to get to know your new – and also newly appointed – colleagues during breaks and joint workshops and to find out more about their research focuses. Many joint and interdisciplinary projects started during welcome events.
We are looking forward to meeting you at the next welcome event.
I especially enjoyed that both Rector and Chancellor spent so much time with us in personal conversation. It was a great opportunity to network and I was impressed that they showed so much appreciation. All in all: a great event!
