Six Scientists Now Researching as RWTH Fellows
The "RWTH Fellows are good example of binding worldclass professors to the university. They are given to scientists who have distinguished themselves in research," says Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Doris Klee, Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development at RWTH Aachen. The support as an RWTH Fellow is a component of the Place to Be measure, which is part of RWTH Aachen's Institutional Strategy II. The support is project-related and offers, for example, the possibility to concentrate on research for certain period of time. External experts were included in the selection. "RWTH Aachen's goal is to be a place to be, a place at which research and teaching at the highest level support university members in all fields, helping them develop their full potential," emphasizes Klee.
The RWTH Fellows were greeted in the Rector's Office. They include Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Sabina Jeschke from the Chair of Information Management in Mechanical Engineering and the Center for Learning and Knowledge Management, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ralph Panstruga from the Teaching and Research Area Molecular Cell Biology of Plants, Prof. Dr.rer.soc. Ute Habel from the Teaching and Research Area Neuropsychological Gender Research, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Reese from the Institute of Applied Mechanics, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Pitsch from the Institute of Technical Combustion, and Prof. Dr. Petri Mähönen from the Institute of Networked Systems.
