Monique Dorsel Reads from Pierre Jourde's "Le Maréchal Absolu"

A reading of the awarding winning novel Le Maréchal absolu by Pierre Jourde will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 7:30pm in Shardana – Centro culturale sardo, Ludwigsallee 1a in Aachen. Jourde is the author of numerous essays about contemporary literature and a number of literary works, that is made up of poetry, narratives, and novels. Since 2009 he has regularly commented on social topics.

 

His novel is about a dictatorship in the modern sense of the word: it leads to those losing a sense of reality who create the dictatorship as well as those who suffer from it. The bilingual reading is organized by the RWTH Institute of Romance Philology under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Anne Begenat-Neuschäfer and the Aachener Übersetzerwerkstatt. Monique Dorsel, the former director of the Théâtre Poème in Brussels will read the French text. Admission is free of charge.
