Sustainability in Production Management

Conference of the Commissions for Sustainability Management and Production Management of the German Academic Association for Business Research to take place at RWTH Aachen University.

 

The Conference of the Commissions for Sustainability Management and Production Management of the German Academic Association for Business Research is scheduled to take place between October 24 and 25. The event is hosted by the Chair of Management Accounting and the Chair of Operations Management at RWTH Aachen University.

Next to economic factors, ecological and social aspects in production management have been discussed for years as factors of sustainability. In addition to global value chains, the conference has a focus on changes in the energy sector and the mobility industry.

Moreover, not only does the increasing digitalization have an economic impact, such as on resource consumption, it also has an effect on social systems such as the labor market. Many questions remain unresolved, as social and ecological aspects have not yet been sufficiently taken into account.
