Rector Ulrich Rüdiger presented the award, worth 1,000 euros, during the RWTH Welcome Week for international students. Chakravorty, a student in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Engineering, is currently writing her Master's thesis on "Modeling Electrical Energy Networks with Graph Theory in Python.”

During her time as a Bachelor’s student at the Jülich branch of FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, she was involved with the Intercultural Center for Aachen Students, INCAS for short, and with the Catholic Student Community, KSG.

Since October 2017, she has been responsible for social media and event management at the Association of Indian Students in Aachen, AISA. In this role, she helped organize events such as "India on my Plate", "DIWALI Cultural Evening," and the "Indo-German Symposium." She was also active in the BeBuddy program: as a “Buddy,” she supported newly enrolled international students with adjusting to university life in Germany.
