Space Shuttle Endeavour's final mission STS-134

On 9 November 2011, four of the astronauts who took part in Space Shuttle Endeavour's final mission STS-134 visited RWTH Aachen University. In front of an audience of about 1,300 students, the crew members gave a lively account of their journey to the International Space Station (ISS). In May 2011, the crew had delivered the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) to the ISS.

Physicists are in high demand on the job market. With an unemployment rate of only 2.6 percent, their risk of being unemployed is below the average of university graduates in general. The Berufsreport website provides more information on physicists' excellent chances of being hired and their exceptionally varied fields of activity in the report Physiker – Die Zukunftsspezialisten (de).

German Physics Society

The DPG is the largest physical professional society in the world. Its website offers good information about studies and a series of free brochures. A membership is very affordable for school or university students and include the monthly member magazine "Physik-Journal", which includes interesting contributions from the world of physicists.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research, the DFG offers understanding glances into current physics research in the web portal Welt der Physik. The porta also maintains its own Youtube channel.
