TU9 to Attend the 13th GAIN Annual Conference in San Francisco

26/08/2013

This year, TU9, a consortium of the leading German universities of technology, will again be present at the annual conference of the German Academic International Network, GAIN for short, scheduled to take place from September 30 to August 1, 2013, in San Fransico, USA.  The conference and careers fair is targeted at German early-career researchers currently working in the US and Canda.

About 400 attendees as well as high-profile representatives from academia, industry and politics are expected to participate in the conference. Representatives of the consortium will provide the participating researchers with information about career opportunities at the TU9 universities. Currently, there are about 50 job openings offering a wide range of excellent career opportunities.

In recent years, GAIN has become the central transatlantic network for German researchers and scientists. Through various events and publications, GAIN aims to improve the flow of information across the Atlantic. Besides assisting German researchers in the US and Canada who want to return to Germany, the network also promotes the collaboration and exchange between German research institutions and scientists who have decided to pursue their career in North America.

The German Academic International Network

GAIN was established as a joint initiative between the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the German Research Foundation. Associated members include the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, the Max Planck Society, the Leibniz Association, and the German Rectors' Conference.
