Alumni Magazine Available on Tablets
The new issue Nr. 55 of the RWTH Aachen alumni magazine "keep in touch" was recently published. The issue, which includes cover page of and detailed interview with Friedrich Joussen, the former head of Vodafone Germany and the new Chair of TUI AG as of a few months ago, demonstrates the diverse personalities among RWTH alumni. As in previous issues, the newest one continues additional profiles and news from RWTH Aachen and Aachen for its alumni around the world.
Issue number 55 is the first "keep in touch" available as an interactive online magazine for iPads and Android tablets. The information is enriched by videos, photo galleries, panoramas, and other extras. "Our magazine is presenting itself as up to date with technology – which is what is expected from a technical university," says Professor Peter Russell, Rector's Delegate for Alumni at RWTH, in his video welcome in the online magazine. Interested individuals can download the "RWTH Alumni online magazine" app to their tablet from Apple's AppStore or Google's PlayStore free of charge. Peter Russell and the alumni team wish to welcome the changed behavior in media use with open arms. More and more people are using portable devices such as tablets and smart phones or combine the use of newspapers, tablets, and computers.
In August 1985, "keep in touch" was published as the first German university publication targeted towards graduates in Germany and abroad. The alumni magazine was available in print and pdf formats online up until now.
