Together with the RWTH Institute of Power Systems and Power Economics, the Forschungsgesellschaft Energie at RWTH Aachen, FGE, is holding the FGE Conference 2013 from September 26 to 27. The conference, held in Kármán Auditorium, will focus on the challenges of energy transition, but also the opportunities that result. Energy transition requires a transformation of the power supply system. For this reason, the conference serves to find an interim conclusion and to react to the existing challenges. These range from grid expansion in transmission, offshore, and distribution networks, the configuration of capacity markets, the funding regimes of renewable energies, to social acceptance of new infrastructure and additional increases to the cost of electricity. Speakers from different agency, from the electricity industry, science, and industry will be present. The FGE Conference will be opened by Martin Fuchs, Chair of the FGE e.V. Board of Trustees and Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Albert Moser, Head of the Institute of Power Systems and Power Economics at RWTH Aachen.
