International RWTH Alumni Meeting in the Metropolis of São Paulo


The first big alumni get together in South America recently took place in the Brazilian megacity São Paulo. Over 40 guests participated in the get together, which including brief informative presentations and snacks.


Prof. Dr. Michael Vorländer, RWTH Rector's Delegate for Collaboration with Brazil, presented current developments, projects, and funding programs at RWTH Aachen to the guests and gave the present graduates information about the university's alumni activities. Afterwards Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Ziegler from the Aachen Chair of Geotechnology in Civil Engineering reported with photos on the parallel Brazil excursion of his students in the Master's course of study Tunneling and Geotechnology and Building Operations and Geotechnology. Contact with RWTH Aachen alumni in Brazil proved helpful during the planning and search for a suitable excusion site. Many alumni demonstrated great interest in further collaboration, network activities, and possibilities to get involved. They used the evening for animated conversations with other alumni, RWTH scientists, and students.
