Within the framework of the November lectures "Understanding Physics!" the RWTH Department of Physics is holding a presentation open to the public. "The Higgs Particle and the End of the World": Professor Michael Krämer from the Institute of Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology at RWTH Aachen will explain the history of the Higgs particle from its birth in a small office in Edinburgh in 1964, to its grand appearance on the world stage at the CERN nuclear research center 48 years later. He will also highlight openended questions in current research. The event will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 11am in Hörsaal Fo2 , Kármán Auditorium, Eilfschornsteinstraße 15. Admission is free of charge, and registration is not required.
