Guest Lecture by Majid Al-Haj

Majid Al-Haj, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Haifa, is an expert on migration and immigration policies. He has published extensively on demography, ethnicity and education.

 

In his guest lecture, the founding director of the Center for Multiculturalism and Educational Research at the University of Haifa will talk about "Diversity, Democracy and Minority Groups in the Academia: The Israeli Case in a Global Perspective." The lecture, which will be given in English, is scheduled to begin Thursday, November 28, at 6:30pm in lecture theater H05, C.A.R.L., Claßenstraße 11. Anyone insterested is invited to attend.

Professor Al-Haj enjoys an international reputation for his expertise in Israel studies and the sociology of the Palestinians. He has initiated a series of highly regarded measures and programs to promote peaceful dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians.

Majid Al-Haj studied social sciences in Jerusalem and at Brown University and has been a visiting professor at various universities in the US and Canada.
