In scientific energy scenarios, the heat pump is considered the most important pillar for decarbonizing heat supply. In real-world implementation, however, many questions arise: Which houses are suitable for using a heat pump? What efficiencies can be achieved and how? Are expensive boreholes necessary or is a cheaper air source heat pump sufficient? What synergies result if photovoltaics are installed on the roof or facade of the house? These and other questions about the technology and energy economy of heat pumps will be addressed and answered in the presentation.
The event has been organized in collaboration with RWTH’s Department of Computer Science, Forschungszentrum Jülich, the regional group of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (RIA), the Aachen-based REGINA computer science association, and the Aachen group of the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers.
