Program Description

Dive into the world of entrepreneurship and learn how to start your own company first-hand.

Our M.Sc. Technology Entrepreneurship (TENT) will give you the theoretical and practical knowledge you need to be a successful entrepreneur. Through state-of-the-art teaching techniques, you will apply what you learned in the classroom to a comprehensive entrepreneurial project, where you build your own business idea from scratch.

The didactic concept of the program is based on four pillars:

  • Hands-on experience

  • Intercultural teams

Degree Content

The M.Sc. Technology Entrepreneurship is an intensive study course consisting of three terms in 15 months, where the first and the last will be held in Aachen and the second in Barcelona. In addition, you may enroll in German language courses during your time in Aachen at no extra cost.

During the first term, you are taught the foundation of entrepreneuship and you may choose between two elective management courses. Additionally, you start with the Founders‘ Project. Within your second term you will have specialized courses and group projects including Finance, Marketing, Product Management for Entrepreneurs & Innovators as well as Advanced Strategy Management. You can also choose two out of seven elective courses: for example Development Tools for Web and Mobile Apps, Corporate Entrepreneurship or Data Analytics. Furthermore, you will continue with your Founders‘ Project. In the third term, you will finalize your Founders‘ Project idea and the Master's thesis will be written.

During our program you will not be studying at only one prestigious European university, but rather two. While RWTH Business School combines the relevant technology know-how from RWTH Aachen University with its technology oriented management expertise, ESADE Business School has an excellent reputation in business administration. RWTH Business School and ESADE Business School join forces to offer you a first class program for your entrepreneurial ambitions.

Upon completion of the program you will be granted an M.Sc. degree by RWTH Aachen University. Additionally you will receive a participant certificate and a transcript of records from ESADE Business School.



RWTH Business School is looking for applicants who have a background in a technological area and a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Applicants need to have at least 12 months of relevant professional work experience by the moment of enrollment (6 months by the moment of application).

Certified proof of your competence in the English language through the completion of one of the accepted examinations listed below is needed:

  • TOEFL Internet based minimum of 95 pts.
  • IELTS (Academic) test minimum overall band 6,5 pts.
  • Cambridge Test – Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
  • Placement-Test of RWTH Aachen University’s language centre (OK)

The score reports must not be older than two years by 1 August of the year the degree course you are applying for will start.

Exemptions for the language requirements are only applicable for nationals or first degree holders from the USA, the UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia


Career Prospects

Completing the TENT master will first and foremost prepare you to become a successful entrepreneur. However, the knowledge and skills acquired have various application areas in the private and public sector.

  • Learning by doing: During your entrepreneurial project, you will go through all stages of starting a firm: from ideation to product launch.
  • Management or Technology Consulting: With your knowledge on researching new markets and product ideas you will be the right person to consult your clients.
  • Venture Capital: You will have unique insights into what makes a startup successful and will be able to identify high potential projects early on.
  • Project Management: You know how to manage a whole business with limited resources.
  • Business Development: You can apply your knowledge from creating a business from the scratch to expand already existing businesses.
  • Product Management: You can work at the intersection between R&D, marketing, sales and procurement.

The M.Sc. degree granted by RWTH Aachen University will also enable you to pursue an academic career and continue studying towards a PhD in fields such as technology and innovation management, marketing, or entrepreneurship.
