On the Uses of Scholarly Editions: RWTH Aachen Hosts International Conference

The 15th international conference of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für germanistische Edition (Research Group on Editing in German Studies) on the topic of scholarly editions is scheduled to take place between February 19 and February 22, 2014, at RWTH Aachen. This year’s conference is titled “On the Uses of Scholarly Editions.”

 

The conference is organized and hosted by Professor Thomas Bein, Dean of Academic Affairs of the RWTH Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Head of the Teaching and Research Area German and Medieval Studies.

The conference will focus on the academic reception and application of modern editorial projects, including topics such as “The publishing house between market aspects, editorial studies, and individual ambitions,” “Editions for non-native speakers,” and “Pedagogic perspectives on the use of full comparative editions – book, hybrid, digital – in Bachelor’s degree programs.”
