Center for Automotive Catalytic Systems Aachen

 

Catalytic systems in automotive applications are an essential part in realising efficient and environmentally friendly propulsion systems. Future challenges due to lower exhaust gas temperatures and less reactive gas compositions can only be met with integrated consideration of the macroscopic complete system and catalytic processes on molecular level.

For this purpose the Center for Automotive Catalytic Systems Aachen was founded as Project House of RWTH Aachen University in 2014.

The project house currently unites researchers from five RWTH Aachen institutes. This interdisciplinary approach enables a comprehensive optimization of complete exhaust gas aftertreatment systems from material synthesis and catalyst structures to system integration.

The ACA is hence the central contact for international academic and industrial cooperation.
