Goal! - Or Not?
Discussion about the goal line technology "GoalControl“ at RWTH: Who doesn't still remember the famous Wembley goal during the world championship finals in 1966 or the phantom goal by Munich player Thomas Helmer in the Bundesliga in 1994?
GoalControl goal line technology, first used during a football world championship in Brazil, defuses referee decisions from becoming contentious goal scenes. The Executive Director of GoalControl and RWTH alumnus, Dirk Broichhausen, will present the technology. He will also discuss with Reiner Plaßhenrich, former professional football player and co-coach of Alemannia Aachen, as well as with Darius Kudela, RWTH student and refereee. Aachen journalist Christoph Pauli will moderate the discussion.
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 7pm in the Generali Hall of the Super C, Templergraben 57. Admission to the event is free of charge and registration is not required.
