RWTH Professor Appointed to Academic Advisory Council

Professor Harald Müller, Chair of Medieval History, has been appointed to the Academic Advisory Council of the German Historical Institute Paris, DHIP.  

 

One of Germany’s Foreign Institutes, the German Historical Institute Paris is a key player in international historical research. Its main objectives include research, knowledge transfer, and qualification. The purpose of the Institute is to disseminate knowledge about the humanities, promoting collaboration between Germany and France. 

Furthermore, starting in October 2014, Professor Müller will undertake a one-year fellowship at the Historische Kolleg, Munich. He is the first Aachen-based historian to be recognized with this honor.

Professor Müller was appointed Chair of Medieval History at RWTH Aachen in 2008. Before coming to Aachen, he was Professor of Medieval and Modern History at the University of Mainz. The topic of his habilitation thesis was “Humanists and Humanism in the Monasteries of the Late Medieval Empire;” his key research areas include ecclesiastical history and Renaissance humanism.
