Kick-off for a unique battery research competence center
Energy storage is a crucial question for the successful implementation of the energy transition and expansion of electromobility. The Helmholtz Institute Münster or HI MS will now instrumentally advance this important field of research. The institute combines the skills of Forschungszentrum Jülich, RWTH Aachen, and the University of Münster in battery research and will be operated as a branch of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The electrolyte is at the focus: a central component of every battery that determines its internal chemical processes.
