RWTH Chair of Computer Graphics Present at "gamescon" Fair

The Chair of Computer Science 8 (Computer Graphics and Multimedia) are presenting at "gamescon," the fair for interactive games and entertainment in Cologne. The goal is to provide school students with information about computer science studies at RWTH Aachen. RWTH scientists and students can be found at the fair from August 13 to 17, 2014, in hall 10.2, stand E 23.

"Our experiences from the past years have shown us that there is great interest in entering the gaming industry via computer science studies," said the RWTH Chair, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Leif Kobbelt. "Furthermore, the course of study also offers career opportunities in other fields. Visual computing specialists are sought after in the automobile industry, architecture, software development, simulation, and medical technology. The underlaying technology and algorithms are identical. Switching fields after a few years as a game developer is not uncommon," Kobbelt added.
