Grand Farewell to Graduates in the Dressage Stadium

RWTH Aachen is honoring its graduates for the first time with a Graduation Celebration on September 6, 2014, in Soers.

 

"Never have so many caps been tossed in this history of our university. We look foward to celebrating the crowning finale of successful studies with numerous graduates, doctoral jubilees, family, sponsors, and individuals from industry, science, and politics," said Rector Ernst Schmachtenberg, presenting the program for RWTH Aachen's very first celebratory Graduation Celebration on September 6, 2014.

With this inter-faculty farewell to graduates, RWTH is preparing for an unforgettable evening. Graduates attending include those who finished their studies in the 2013 summer semester or 2013/2014 winter semester and those who received their doctorate. Almost 4000 participants, including NRW minister Svenja Schulze, will attend the event, under the Öcher motto "Tschö Wa" at the Aachen Laurensberg Riding Association Dressage Stadium .

The program begins at 12:30pm and includes not only the cap toss as a symbol of joy for successful studies, but also a show, music, and speeches. Additionally, the first recipient of the Aachen Engineering Award, Prof. Dr. techn. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Berthold Leibinger, will address the new graduates.
