"SAM on Tour" Press Invitation

21/10/2014

RWTH's SelfAssessments are going mobile – the first stop is the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Aachen.

Finding the right course of study – with the number of options available, it's not an easy task for school students. One orientation aid includes online advising assistants, so-called self assessments, like the ones RWTH has offered for over ten years. These assessments shed light on some of the demands of the respective study fields during initial semesters. Participants' own knowledge and individual abilities allow for comparison.

RWTH takes great strides to prepare upcoming students for their studies as much as possible. For this reason, the Aachen SelfAssessments, SAM, are going mobile. With "SAM on Tour" the University is offering schools a new and free service on site. A trained team comes with the computer equipment to the schools. School students can then take the self assessments during the school period and under supervision in a familiar environment.

Project head Professor Marold Wosnitza, school principle Jan-Dirk Zimmermann, and Barbara Schulte-Zurhausen, Coordinator for Choosing a Course of Study and Profession, invite the press to attend a press conference on Wednesday, October 19, 2014, at 2pm, at Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium. The exact room will be announced on site. This is also the kick off for "SAM on Tour": Over 130 school students in grades Q1 and Q2 are taking the self assessments at Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium.

Please register by Monday, October 17, 2014.
