Conference Organized by the German Studies Association of Australia

Professor Ludwig Deringer, Chair of American and Canadian Studies, will be attending an international and interdisciplinary conference on "The Foreign and the Self in German Literature, Society and Culture," organized by the German Studies Association of Australia (GSAA) and to be held November 26 to 28 at the University of Sydney.

 

He will present a paper on "Christine Lavant and Emily Dickinson: The Religious Lyric in International Contexts." The proceedings of the previous GSAA conference, held in 2011 at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, were published in May 2014 under the title Interculturality in German Studies (Eds. Alan Corkhill and Alison Lewis). Professor Deringer’s contribution to the collection is " 'Alte Geschichten': The Brothers Grimm, American Exile and Carl Zuckmayer's Die sieben einfachen Dinge or Vermonter Roman."
