Everyone knows how to heat water using a kitchen stove. Many people also use more complicated devices, such as pressure cookers, special egg boilers, and microwave ovens. But how do these devices work? Professor Hebbeker will introduce these devices and explain the physical principles on which they are based, illustrating his presentation with several live experiments. Furthermore, Hebbeker will present a few interesting applications, such as how to easliy erase data on a CD.
