Liudmila Prisiazhnaia Receives Federal Chancellor Scholarship to Research at RWTH Aachen

Liudmila Prisiazhnaia has joined the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives (ISEA) at RWTH Aachen as a recipient of the Federal Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The researcher from Russia has decided to complete the funded one-year research stay at RWTH Aachen.

 

The fellowship program under the patronage of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany is financed by the Federal Foreign Office. It is awarded to up to ten aspiring leaders from Brazil, China, India, Russia, and the United States. To be eligible for the fellowship, candidates must have professional experience in the areas of politics, business, media, administration, society or culture.

During their one year stay in Germany, fellowship recipients are expected to complete their own research projects at a host institution of their choice. In addition, they stay is to give them the opportunity to establish contacts in the host country and contribute to finding solutions to the global challenges of our time.

Prisiazhnaia received her Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Economics and Finance in St. Petersburg. Subsequently she worked for seven years at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia and completed her doctoral degree. Under the supervision of Professor Uwe Sauer, at the Institute for Power Electronics and Electrical Drives, she will analyze the development of electromobility in Germany.

Apart from investigating the dynamics in research and development, she will pay close attention to field testing activities and their results. Currently field testing is underway as part of the Showcasing Electromobility funding program by the federal government. One aim of her research activities is to develop approaches to promoting the development of electromobilty in Russia.
