Taking a Stand Against Leukemia

12/12/2014

RWTH's big typing event will take place on December 17, from 10am to 6pm. All students and interested individuals can get registered in the German Bone Marrow Registry or DKMS in the Sparkassen Forum under the RWTH SuperC on Templergraben. This year only a buccal swab will be used, unlike the past years, where participants had blood taken.

Under the patronage of Rector Ernst Schmachtenberg and with the help of AStA, medical students and organizers Johanna Sckaer, Nada Abedin, and Luisa Averdunk already have 130 volunteers from all departments. There is also an incentive, a Santa hat, for the quickest donors. Over 1,800 participants are expected.

Questions about DKMS typing and RWTH's efforts can posed on Tuesday, December 16, at 5:30pm during an info event in Ford Hall, SuperC. A RWTH student will also report on his experience as a donor.
