Japan in Aachen: Martial Arts, Kimono, and Energy Politics

16/01/2015

Together with collaborative partners RWTH is organizing an event about "Japan in Aachen." It will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 3:30 to 6pm in Aula 1, RWTH Main Building, Templergraben 55. All interested individuals are welcome to attend.

Collaborating with the Japanese General Consulate Düsseldorf and the Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft in der Region Aachen e.V., the University will offer cultural presentations, musical performances, discussions, and talks at the event. Energy politics will serve as one topic of focus. Members of the kimono club at the University of Düsseldorf will give a kimono presentation. The event will also be accompanied by music: the Japanese drumming group TAIKO MIYABI unifies movement and rhythm, creating powerful energy.

Japan is a country of focus in RWTH's internationalization strategy. Collaboration with Japanese universities and research institutions plays an important role. RWTH offers its students exchange programs and internships in Japan in addition to language courses. There are currently research collaborations with Japan as well.
