Teaching Computer Science from Kindergarten to Abitur
On Monday, March 23, 2015, the 14th NRW Computer Science Day will take place at RWTH Aachen. It is hosted by the Gesellschaft für Informatik in collaboration with the Learning Technologies Research Group at RWTH Aachen headed by Professor Ulrik Schroeder.
This year the NRW Computer Science Day is targeted at school teachers. In 22 workshops, attendees have the chance to discuss ways of integrating computer science-related content and concepts in their teaching. This includes micro-controller and app programming, but also topic such as cybermobbing and digital life in general.
Teachers will also have the opportunity to get informed on the InfoSphere (de) lab for school students and the go4it! (de) project that offers robotics workshops for girls.
Furthermore, Computer Science professor Klaus Wehrle will give a presentation on the state-of-the-art of intelligent communication systems.
The Sylvia Löhrmann, Ministerin für Schule und Weiterbildung des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, ist Schirmherrin der Veranstaltung. Rund 350 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer werden in Aachen erwartet.
Patron of the nevent is Sylvia Löhrmann, NRW Minister for School and Continuing Education. Around 350 participants are expected to attend.
