RWTH Achieves Top Results in 2015 QS World University Rankings
In the QS University Rankings by Subject published April 29, 2015, RWTH Aachen once again received high rankings in many fields.
RWTH Aachen has been ranked among the top 50 universities in several subjects. The University was particularly successful in mechanical engineering, which was ranked 12th worldwide, the highest placement achieved by a German university in the ranking.
RWTH Aachen’s efforts to further strengthen the natural sciences are also reflected by the results: The University was ranked 40th in the world in chemistry and 30th in physics .
Furthermore, RWTH was placed among the top universities in the newly included subject areas “business & management studies” and “architecture & built environment”. Psychology and modern languages were also placed among the top 200 worldwide.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject – one of the most influential international university rankings – have been published since 2004 and are based on six factors: academic reputation, employer reputation, student/faculty ratio, citations per faculty, proportion of international faculty, and proportion of international students.
