"Tailor-Made Fuels from Biomass" Excellence Cluster Hosts 3rd International Conference
From June 23 to 25, 2015, the 3rd TMFB International Conference will take place in Aachen. International experts will meet at the Eurogress Conference Center to present and discuss the latest research results in the field of biofuels. Furthermore, at the conference, the TMFB Excellence Cluster will receive the “environmentally-friendly” seal of approval from KlimaExpo NRW.
For the third time, the Excellence Cluster Tailor-Made Fuels from Biomass will host the conference, where international experts from academia and industry will meet to discuss new trends and developments in the synthesis, production, and combustion of modern biofuels.
Apart from keynote lectures by invited speakers, there will be a poster session that gives early-stage researchers to present their research activities and results.
The TMFB excellence cluster is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach. As the spokesperson for the cluster, Professor Stefan Pischinger, explains: “Our excellence cluster brings together researchers from a broad range of disciplines. The collaboration of experts in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and further neighboring disciplines provides significant impetus for the generation of new ideas, which we seek to develop and implement."
Due to its innovative sustainability research activities, the excellence cluster is to receive the “environmentally-friendly” seal of approval from KlimaExpo NRW, an initiative by the government of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The seal of approval will be officially awarded on the third day of the conference, subsequent to the TMFB status presentations, which summarize the cluster’s research results of the last year.
