RWTH, Ford, and Landschaftsverband Rheinland are collaborating on the project.
RWTH is conducting research into possible applications for a collaborative robot together with automaker Ford and Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR). The aim is that a severely disabled person and a robot could work together in production and would not be separated by a safety fence. The project is intended to provide insights into the use of human-machine collaboration to secure the employment of severely disabled people and to advise small and medium-sized companies on this topic. At RWTH, the Institute of Mechanism Theory, Machine Dynamics and Robotics is involved in the project. The institute’s competencies in robotics and collaboration ensure both scientific support and further transfer for the project.
LVR is funding the model project with a total of 372,000 euros.
