Mobility Programs
Aside from completing a stay within the framework of exchange programs such as ERASMUS+ or RWTH Exchange Worldwide, international students have the opportunity to participate in structured mobility programs at RWTH Aachen or complete a double degree program.
The different programs are oriented towards specific target groups. Please read carefully to see if you are eligible for a certain program.
UROP International and the T.I.M.E. are the only programs for which application takes place through the RWTH International Office.
For information on conditions of participation and the application process for other programs, please refer to the websites of – or contact – your home university or the responsible organization.
Double Degree Programs
Students who participate in an RWTH double degree program complete a part of their Master's studies in Aachen; in addition to the degree from their home institution, they will receive a degree from RWTH upon successful completion.
Please note that the programs listed here are the only double degree programs offered by RWTH Aachen University.

Research Programs, Summer Schools and Final Theses
RWTH offers international students different types of research internships and summer schools. Moreover, international students have the opportunity to complete their final thesis at RWTH.
Please note, however, that students just completing their final thesis here at RWTH will not reveive a degree from RWTH Aachen University.
Students who want tom complete a research project or write their thesis at RWTH outside of a mobility program (see list below) can do so e.g. via an ERASMUS+ internship or as a Visiting Project Student.

Strategic Partnerships
RWTH strives to enter into partnership agreements with universities that have a similar profile, such as the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada; IIT Madras in Chennai, India; and Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
These partnerships seek to expand collaboration at all ínstitutional levels, including teaching, research, and administration. The partner universities seeks to develop joint structures and innovative educational offerings, establish joint research projects, and consolidate all forms of collaboration with the aim to create synergies. The goal is to further raise the partner universities' profiles in teaching and research and to deepen their internationalization efforts.
