RWTH Welcomes New International Students
The orientation events for the winter semester of 2015/16 will be held on September 1-2 and October 6-7.
At the beginning of the upcoming winter semester, once again several hundred international students will come to Aachen to start their studies. Many of them are leaving their family and home country for the first time, and they will have to learn how to operate in a different cultural and social environment. Furthermore, they have to come to terms with new approaches to teaching and learning.
Against this backdrop, the Welcome Days and orientation events are a special welcome service for all new international students. These events will provide international students with the essential information required to get off to the right start in Aachen and with their studies at RWTH Aachen.

The orientation days will provide participants with information on how RWTH Aachen University works, as well as advice on practical matters such as accommodation, medical care, or finances.
Special emphasis will be placed on an introduction to RWTH Aachen University, in particular its points of contact and advisory services. Furthermore, the Foreigners' Office of the Aachen City Region will give a talk on the topics visa and right of residence.
There will also be an information market where the Faculty Student Advisors will introduce themselves to the students, answer their questions and offer advice on how to achieve a good start to their academic life in Aachen.
Furthermore, the international students will have the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the University campus.
