Sabbioneta – An Ideal Renaissance City
The northern Italian city of Sabbioneta originated as a residence for the small douchy. The RWTH Aachen Chair of the History of Architecture measured the grand buildings in the UNCESCO world heritage site and examined them using methods from historical building research under the direction of professor Jan Pieper from 2007 to 2014.
The exhibition will be open from November 5 to 25, 2015, Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm in the foyer of the Reiff Museum, Schinkelstraße 1.
The opening of the exhibit is November 4, 2015, at 8pm in Reiff Museum, Schinkelstraße 1. The opening lecture will be given by Christoph Mäckler from TU Dortmund and is titled "City and European Identity." The lecture begins at 6:30pm in Hörsaal Fo 2, Kármán Auditorium, Eilfschornsteinstraße 15.
Additional lectures will be given during the framework program "City, Culture, and Identity" on November 5, 11, 18, and 25, 2015.
All events are free of charge. Registration is not required.
