Research Fellow Receives Award for Best Doctorate
Linguist Jennifer Hinnell recently received the Governor General's Gold Medal – the University of Alberta’s top doctoral award.
In April 2019 she spent her third stay at RWTH Aachen University, sponsored by the RWTH - University of Alberta Junior Research Fellowship. Together with Professor Mittelberg, she continued her research on body language as an integral part of linguistic expression in the RWTH gesture research laboratory, which is equipped with video and motion capture technology.
The applications of Dr. Hinnell's research range from the medical field to video game development. We congratulate Jennifer Hinnell on her award and are pleased that we were able to support her research with a scholarship.
